The True Cost of War

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. There are a millions of arm chair warriors who whole heartedly support the current wars in the Middle East. Many of them openly call for the slaughter of Muslims, no matter where they live, without any true understanding of the realities of the “War on Terror”. I encourage them to spend some time viewing the graphic photos included here, along with the text. Here is the source of the information and photos. I can think of no better way to absorb the reality of war, with the exception of actively participating, than this site provides. Please provide a link to everyone you know who supports this mindless slaughter.

“Americans have a superstition, backed by law, that the bodies of Americans killed in war or their coffins must not be photographed. Oddly, the superstition does not apply to those they have killed. I see this law as a way to deceive the American people about the human costs of illegal wars. As a Canadian, the law does not apply to me. I feel a duty to punch Americans in the gut with such photos to persuade them to stop treating war as a football game.”

Nine-year old Arkin found a landmine near his house. Not knowing what it was, he picked it up and it exploded. The blast destroyed an arm, a hand and both eyes. Doctors doubt he will survive. Arkin’s family had been living as refugees for 16 years and returned home the day before this tragic accident. ©Sean Sutton/MAG 16/04/03
